blocked tear ductI've had cronic sinitus for more than 50 years which include sinus head aches, ear infections and recently partially blocked tear ducts. I've had surgery to widen the nasal passages, had allergy tests which indicated no allergies but an overly sensitive nose caused by a virus that altered my immune system when I was a child. I take Allegra & rinocort spray daily. A year ago an Opthomologist opened a partially blocked tear duct using a wire & saline solution which solved my overly tearing eye problem. Now I have the same problem. Should I go to an eye ear nose & throat specialist again or opthomologist? Appreciate your help.

Re: blocked tear ductDear Sirs;
I have developed a "blocked tear duct" in my right eye. I have tried all the possible solutions per my Opthmologist. The last was to place a tiny ring with hole in the middle in duct for drainage. It didn't help and so it was removed. He told me to wait three more weeks and then report what condition my eyes are in. My right eye is totally blocked but my left one is partially blocked and the entire experience is frustrating. I am a nurse and wiping my eyes in the hospital very often isn't my first choice of activities. What is the next treatment available and what are the guarantees and risks? Thank you very much. murpdk
