prism in glassesHi. I am myopic and I wear glasses (sph -5.25 (both eyes) and cyl - 2.25 and -1.75. My OD said that I have a severe esophoria because I had problems with diplopia at the evening, when I'm tired (i work with my computer many hours a day...). He gave me a new prescription with:
1)the same sph and cyl corr. 2)11 prism diopter Bo in each lens ! 3) bifocals +1.50 diopter. I just received my new glasses and the result is : - vison : very good, no more diplopia, and near vision very good too. - glasses : horrible ! the lenses (even rolled) are 15 mm thick (!!!)right and 13 mm left (i have measured) I can't wear these glasses at work or outside for cosmetic evident reasons... But when I wear the glasses at home, I have diplopia when I return to my "normal" glasses. What solution can I expect ? If I wear the prismatic glasses, would it be more and more difficult for me to wear normal glasses ? (in this case I don't know if I will wear the prismatic ones) Thank's a lot for the answer Alexandre
Re: prism in glassesMaybe you won't get double vision with a bit less prism. That would help decrease the thickness. You have to ask your Dr. Also, purchasing hi -index plastic or polycarbonate lenses may make them thinner. The important thing is that they relieve your symptoms.
